Miradouro da Pedra Bela
Serra do Gerês, Terras de Bouro
About this place
The valley and Caniçada seen from the mountains: a stop to recognise your trip's landscape.
The whole valley fits into a glance.
At Pedra Bela, the mountains open a window onto the valley and Caniçada. Before lifting your phone, try to recognise what you see: the water, hillsides and outlines of places you have passed through. The viewpoint is a good pause for connecting your trip's different scales, from a village stroll to the mountain horizon.
Municipal tourism information lists trees, a fountain and a picnic area. Miguel Torga's poem “Pátria” adds another perspective to the landscape. You do not need a long walk to enjoy the stop; you need time to look. In fog, replace the expectation of a sweeping view with a short walk around the viewpoint itself.

Three details to take with you
- 01
The water below
Locate Caniçada and try connecting it with your visit through Rio Caldo.
- 02
The written landscape
Look for the reference to Miguel Torga. A text can change how long you linger over a view.
- 03
The natural setting
Trees and rocks are part of the viewpoint. Try including them in a photo without crossing barriers.
